Open Farm Sunday 8th June

Join us for a fun-filled day out for the whole family!
Discover the story behind our food and how farming impacts our daily lives through live demonstrations, tractor and trailer rides, nature walks, machinery displays and the chance to meet adorable farm animals up close.

Our annual open day Open Farm Sunday returns on 8 June and we’re extremely excited to welcome you and your family and friends once again

It’s free to attend and you don’t need any tickets. We hope you have a great day out on our farm and enjoy celebrating with us

Here are the details of some of the activities you can see on the day:-

  • Talks and demonstrations on how we look after our sheep with Kay Croot and Farm worker Tim Parker together with a sheep shearing demonstration with our regular shearer Bernard – get up close and feel the sheep fleeces plus demonstrations with the team from Scarsdale Vets who support us to look after our flock
  • Demonstrations and a chance to chat with Farmer Jim Yates about how we look after our Shire Horses plus a Blacksmithing Demonstration with our farrier Mark
  • Guided nature walk with John – learn about some of the sustainability initiatives on the farm and what we are doing on the reseeding, soil testing and hedgerows
  • Butchery demonstrations with Butchery Manager Justin and his team – have a go at making sausages and learn about where we buy our meat from
  • Animal Petting farm from Ash End House Farm
  • Static farm machinery displays including a chance photo opportunities with a chance to sit in a tractor
  • Learn about where our honey comes from including a chance to see the bees in an observation hive
  • Supplier tastings and stalls
  • Competitions and games
  • BBQ with our homemade burgers and sausages and Bluebell Dairy ice cream
  • Face painting and story telling

The event will be open from 11am until 3.30 and the farm shop and café will be open from 9.30am until 4pm with last orders in the café at 3pm. Our play area will be open as usual too and dogs on leads are welcome around the farm and on our decking
